Remarkably, she survives the assault, but decides to sue the police department because she was not adequately protected.       Melissa H One of my all time favorite movies. This movie is so accurate it's not funny. And the main characters ( Tracy and Buck) was played by two amazing actors/actresses. I grew up in a abusive home : my father was a Vietnam vet who suffered from untreated PTSD because of what he went through especially with being a POW two different times- he received the purple heart and he was a bad (extremely bad) alcoholic: and this movie was wrote in a way that is 100% accurate about abusive husbands and what the wife goes through. My heart breaks every time for the real Tracy Thurman. From the first time I ever watched this movie I have prayed for her and her children. To the writer, producer, and the actress who played Tracy and the actor that played Buck...thank you so much for this movie and for the respect that was shown to the real Tracy Thurman for telling her story.
