Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review paul d A well done documentary on the true story. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member For a television series it's pretty creepy Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member you know for a tv series...this scared me! It made me SO creeped out... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member This is FAR more frightening than the lame Hollywood follow-up. I simply cannot believe that the most frightening productions in the history of horror were made for television: the original Salem's Lot (1979) and THIS docudrama. What makes this docudrama so entertaining is the way it interweaves the recreated events with the narration of Tony Call and interviews with the real people. I could understand how this docudrama was so popular that it spawned both the Hollywood film and an entire documentary series for the Discovery Channel ("A Haunting"). You can't put a price on discovering an anthology that gives you countless hours of entertainment, whether you're discovering for the first time Woody Allen (writer/director of 40 plus films), James Bond (20 plus franchise films), or "A Haunting" (39 episodes). HIC masterfully projects an overtone of the grave and unlike most horror films, its events have that stranger-than-fiction quality that exceeds the capacity of human imagination. Hollywood has turned out a great deal of junk in recent years that purports to understand the nature of fear: Blair Witch Project, The Ring, Gothika, Insidious, but with the exception of The Shining, Salem's Lot (1979), and the serviceable Sixth Sense, nothing is able to touch your soul like A Haunting in Connecticut (the docudrama). The film version baffles me in that it deviated from some very spooky and credible source material in ways that worked against the horror. Some folks rated this docudrama low because they were expecting the film and, not having seen the film, expected great things. If they had only seen the film first, they'd know THIS was the superior product. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member was good. i liked the idea of living in a morgue. thats such a crazy storyline. drew my interest the whole time.
