I don't know exactly what this says about me, but this is the most fun I've had with a holiday movie so far this season! Heck, the most fun I've had with any movie lately. I'm still in shock at how well this movie is made - the production values are superior, there are genuine laughs AND scares (sometimes at the same time) and Shatner gives the performance of his career as a drunken radio show host. I have become immune to twist endings in movies, but this one actually worked on me, and it totally knocked me for a loop. There are multiple story lines here that are cleverly and subtly connected with one another, and although some I liked better than others, there really isn't a weak link in the bunch. And I can say there were at least three specific scares that made me jump a bit! Don't try to overanalyze it, just have fun with it! You'll never think of the elves in Santa's workshop quite the same way ever again. If you're sensitive about the sanctity of Christmas, don't bother with this - it's politically incorrect and an equal opportunity offender. But tongue is firmly planted in cheek throughout, and to be quite honest, a movie like this is a bit of a refuge from the cookie cutter plots of 95% of the holiday movies I sit through. In other words, there is no overworked advertising executive returning to her hometown and falling in love with the son of her father's rival who is about to lose his ranch. And for that, I am truly grateful.

I Didn't think I would like this movie but by the surprise ending I realized that that I had been drawn in and was invested. It follows four separate stories that are loosely connected to each other. I found it entertaining and have started watching it at Christmas time. Plus the opening song it both catchy and eerie at the same time.

It was alright. William Shatner was the best part of it. Worth a watch. It won't make my yearly Christmas movie list, but like I said, it's worth one watch. Crossed it off of my Christmas horror movie list.

It's fun, it's scary, it has something for every horror fan out there from the casual fan who will love the accessibility of the stories to the more hardcore nerdy horror fan who will recognize the name of Bailey Downs from the get go.
