It was a tiny bit corny, but any period biopic like this is going to feel a bit like “Forrest Gump.” You play spot-the-famous-person and judge their resemblance to their real-life counterpart, and they parade through real historical events.

The intimate, tight close-ups during the musical numbers are effective, bringing us face-to-face with Chalamet as he sings. You can almost feel the vibrations in his throat, as if the very essence of Dylan’s voice is pouring out through the screen.
