Bad and all over the map. Not good, like say 'Big Fat Greek Wedding' which knew it wanted to be a comedy, this thing is not quite comedy, not quite drama, not quite romance. It kind of covers the arc of a relationship and its up and downs, but not in any kind of coherent way. About 2/3 of the way through, I was wondering if they want the characters together or apart. Bad sign for a rom-com.

I think you get what you want in this movie. Not out of the world, but that's not what this movie was trying to achieve. It does make for a good watch if you a looking for 1.5 hours of a cute love story!

I loved it! Okay maybe it's not the best movie there is but it was fun, funny and they got the whole Portuguese thing down. Deserves a better rating IMO...but I blame that on the very poor advertising of the film!

Jack is in love, but Maria and her family are driving him crazy. It's almost like he's living in a sitcom, which is great for him professionally. He gives up writing a pilot for Space Bar (Cheers in space) and pens a sitcom based on his life. How meta!
