Busy, baggy, and schmaltzy, A Good Person proves that the best of intentions and terrific performances can sometimes add up to a movie that's merely fine.

Wenlei Ma News.com.au A Good Person mostly works, thanks to the strength of its performers and its compassionate spirit. Rated: 3/5 Apr 24, 2023 Full Review Sandra Hall Sydney Morning Herald The pleasure lies in watching Pugh and Freeman face up and finally come around to one another. It’s not straightforward, a dance of advance and retreat with both revealing their strengths and weaknesses, but it’s always worth watching. Rated: 3.5/5 Apr 20, 2023 Full Review David Stratton The Australian Pugh gives a mesmerising performance and Freeman, for once cast in a very substantial role, is better than he’s been in several years. Rated: 4/5 Apr 15, 2023 Full Review Zach Youngs InSession Film There is a split narrative in A Good Person that weaves through the tale of grief. In some ways the pull of focus from one character or another fails the stronger narrative of Allison. Rated: C Jul 3, 2024 Full Review Jorge Ignacio Castillo The Canadian Crew If only the filmmaker had relinquished the rehab template and dared to explore the more obscure corners of a story a hundred times told, A Good Person could have transcended the clichés it's mired on. Rated: 2/5 Jun 13, 2024 Full Review David Griffiths Subculture Entertainment Has everything that you would expect from a Zach Braff film - a good screenplay and a great soundtrack. This one will keep you guessing with all of its twists and turns. Morgan Freeman, Florence Pugh and Celeste O'Connor are amazing throughout. Rated: 4/5 Dec 16, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/12/23 Full Review Annie Excellent portrayals by ALL the actors/characters!! Bravo for showing the power of believing in something or someone, and acting on those beliefs. ALSO . . . excellent way to show a variety of ways people cope with grief, anger, and the importance of forgiveness. We need more movies that empower those who we overlook, ignore, forget about, etc. . . . . . .
