Still, the plot and themes are highly derivative, the film never becomes remotely believable (to a big extent due to directorial deficiency, as a sure hand could at least partly save such a meagre script), most characters are caricatures and the protagonist has zero likability. "Un Homme Ideal" is watchable and at times pleasing but often blatantly careless as well. Everything is exemplary; direction, editing, screenplay (for the most part), use of music. The acting of the main characther is very impressive. Although you may predict what could happen in some scenes, there are still surprises when you think that evertything is over.
