Courtney Howard Fresh Fiction Taut, twisty and riveting, the perfectly sun-tanned noir ironically steals the right parts from its inspirations all while making it fresh. Rated: 3.5/5 Nov 5, 2017 Full Review Javier Porta Fouz La Nación (Argentina) An impetuous film and an update of industrial ways long tested in French cinema focused on crime. [Full review in Spanish] Nov 1, 2016 Full Review Marcos Gandía Sensacine The film has a structure that leads us to an unexpected ending after putting us through a labyrinth of angst. Audience Member Short history nevertheless it has good scenes Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review richard i With no humour intended, the best part of this film is the end, but the journey there, competent as it is, adds nothing new to the "ambitious man caught in a lie" trope, ratcheting up the implausibility and coincidence until it's almost funny - but fans of the genre will get a minor kick out of it, I'm sure. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Pierre Niney gives a pretty good performance, there are a lot of suspenseful scenes and the photography has some marvelous moments. Still, the plot and themes are highly derivative, the film never becomes remotely believable (to a big extent due to directorial deficiency, as a sure hand could at least partly save such a meagre script), most characters are caricatures and the protagonist has zero likability. "Un Homme Ideal" is watchable and at times pleasing but often blatantly careless as well. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member This is an extreme story of a man trying to be someone else and the price he pays for that. Everything is exemplary; direction, editing, screenplay (for the most part), use of music. One of the best hitchcockian thrillers of the recent years and perhaps the most suspenseful of those which were screened in 2016. 8/10 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Un Homme Ideal [Gozlan, 2016] a film structured so well, it's both suspenseful and unpredictable. 8/10 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Very interesting suspense film. The acting of the main characther is very impressive. Although you may predict what could happen in some scenes, there are still surprises when you think that evertything is over. I would highly recommend it. You won´t be disappointed. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Read all reviews
