Synopsis
In 1950, white policeman Jack Dupont (Bill Flynn) meets cafe worker Stella Kleurley (Jana Cilliers) in Cape Town, South Africa. Light-skinned Stella is of mixed parentage, making it illegal for them to marry under apartheid. Moving to a diverse neighborhood to keep a low profile, the couple raises their son, Paul (Kevin Smith). While they struggle to have Stella legally recognized as white, Paul is prohibited from marrying his white girlfriend, Andrea (Joanna Weinberg).
