Ashlie D. Stevens Salon.com It's simply another example of how corporate advertising continues to overtly commandeer everyday spaces like film and social media. Dec 15, 2020 Full Review Megan Garber The Atlantic This rom-comic ad-movie is campy, but not camp in the strict Sontagian sense. It's silly, but deeply aware of its silliness. It's escapist in a moment when distraction from the world's realities can be a rare commodity. Dec 15, 2020 Full Review Carla Meyer San Francisco Chronicle Lopez is the most respectful fake Sanders yet, giving "Recipe's" least soapy performance. He brings a stoicism and a bravery to the character, who can head-butt a guy without disturbing his own horn-rimmed specs. Rated: 3/4 Dec 14, 2020 Full Review Jessica Scott Nightmarish Conjurings [A] brazen hybrid of marketing and entertainment that weaponizes camp and irony in order to anthropomorphize a multi-billion dollar corporation in the form of a disturbingly sexy mascot who winks at the audience to let them know he’s in on the joke. Dec 22, 2022 Full Review Martin Thomas Double Toasted At the end of it, if nothing else, I should've been hungering for chicken. And I wasn't. Jan 20, 2021 Full Review Korey Coleman Double Toasted A soap satire, where the shorter the better...the trailer works better, to be honest with you, but it's just 15 minutes and you will get a couple of chuckles from this. John R Absolute masterpiece Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/27/24 Full Review Armynurse68c G To all the haters of this movie I say "Beat it crouton!" It's a pretty funny little film, take it as it is and not too seriously! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/28/24 Full Review Aiden L A beautiful love story centered around KFC's very own chicken man. I mean, wow. I've been never seen someone so hot that I almost exploded! I must say, the villain was quite impressive. How could someone be so evil, yet so good? It's like the 4 years ago modern Thanos. I'd never rooted for a villain until I saw this movie. Although short, this movie perfectly depicts the true to life story of Colonel Sanders. 20/10. Secrets out, chicken man Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/05/24 Full Review Michael S Not sure how anyone could watch this. It's littered with plot holes and smacks of one of those fake productions from 30-Rock Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/24 Full Review BradLee B What the HECK was THIS?!?! KFC teaming up with Lifetime TV to make a ROMANTIC DRAMA about their FOUNDER?!?! What were these people thinking? Also, I didn't like the casting for Colonel Sanders. He's not Mexican. Just because you want a sexy Colonel Sanders doesn't mean that you cast the actor that played SLATER from SAVED BY THE BELL!!! Get a Caucasian person like Zac Efron or Ryan Reynolds or something. And also, this "film" was WAY too short. If you want to make a romantic comedy that escalates into a murder story, make it LONGER. Not only does it give a chance to flesh out the characters more, but it gives time to build up the plot. But I gave this a 1 1/2 star review because it was a creative plot and decent acting. But still, this was a disappointment and I hope Lifetime never EVER makes a sequel. Goodbye....
