Dennis Harvey Variety A Sacrifice just feels like a pulpy genre setup that increasingly drifts into conceptual ether, something it does not have the mysterioso intensity to render a plus. Jul 17, 2024 Full Review Peter Sobczynski RogerEbert.com It isn’t even awful so much as it is intensely forgettable—the kind of film whose title eludes you even as you watch it. Rated: 1/4 Jun 28, 2024 Full Review Christian Zilko indieWire [A Sacrifice] isn’t quite as interesting as the towering questions that it asks. But the fact that it bothers to ask them at all puts the film in a rarified class above many of its Hollywood counterparts. Rated: B Jun 26, 2024 Full Review Philipp Engel Cinemanía (Spain) The plot, clumsy and predictable, lacks the suspense necessary to keep our attention. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 2.5/5 Sep 26, 2024 Full Review Kat Halstead Common Sense Media From the get-go in A Sacrifice, all the twists and turns are so thoroughly set up and spelled out that it's just a matter of watching the inevitable unfold. Jul 22, 2024 Full Review Natasha Alvar Cultured Vultures The movie sacrifices characterisation in favour of a twisty plot, but that ultimately backfires since we feel nothing when they are plunged into treacherous situations. Mr. Hollywood The film is predictable and pointless but my main gripe is with the trailer. It showed the whole movie. It showed the so called surprise even though you see it coming a mile away. Either way its a waste. Eric Bana was wasted here Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/12/24 Full Review Paul W Story sucked ,, boring Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/10/24 Full Review Carlos R. Other than the tired trope of a high school or college aged child (in this case college) handling their parents’ divorce like an 8 year old would, I thought this was a decent film. More could’ve been done to make us care more about the leads but the performances are solid. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/03/24 Full Review Rick I loved this movie so much, I am going to watch it again when Amazon has it on their app Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/01/24 Full Review KF Terrible acting - horrible film. Wouldn't watch it for free. Could have been a great movie if it went faster and acting was better. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/30/24 Full Review Kelvin G The actors did the best they could with what they were given but this movie had a lot of problems. The pacing was steady and then the third act it just started racing and motivations of characters didn't make sense. It was an interesting idea for a story but it wasn't told very well.
