A Sun is a bold, involving tale of crime, punishment, tragedy and healing -- all within a seemingly ordinary family of four in Taiwan. Go to Full Review

As wrenching and resonant a cinematic experience as can be found in any country this year... Go to Full Review

The family drama's subtlety and care don't mesh well with the crime drama, which feels underbaked. The lack of energy in the even-handed direction doesn't help, either. The family drama does work... thanks to the strong performances of the cast. Go to Full Review

M J Sep 11 I'm here for Greg Hsu See more Roberto T Mar 26 Im confused about how to rate this. The first time I saw the movie I was spellbound. Just recently I watched it again and it failed to click. It's still beautifully shot, and a strong drama, but there was something magical about it the first time. All I can say is, keep your eyes peeled, it may be spiritually rewarding. See more Dave C 04/30/2024 Tracking the trials and tribulations of a family through the expectations, and inevitable disappointment, placed on the two sons. Arguably, one is viewed as showing more promise than the other, and he has the faith and trust of his father as a result. The story is more focused on the experiences of the younger, less in-favour, son. Whilst interesting, I struggled to see or feel any kind of emotional connection between characters. Whether related to cultural norms or not, is not the issue, As directed, it leaves the movie feeling only skin-deep as opposed to meaningful and heartfelt See more Anh Khoa N 02/11/2024 đáng xem nhiều ý nghĩa về xã hội hiện nay See more Julia R 11/23/2023 At first seemed a bit violent but the unfolding of the story and the unspoken emotions that play out are beautiful. To me, this story highlights the effect that one person can have on an entire family. See more A L 10/08/2023 Very slow burn and drip feed of information, what initially seems like a slice of life story turned into a dark and exhilarating thriller. The ending leaves you question where you'd draw your line of morality. See more Read all reviews
