I was an opiate addict for 20 years and this is by far the most accurate movie about dope ever made. Not only is it accurate but it's really good too. One of my all time favorites now.

This movie is pretty dope!! (ha ha) A Thousand Junkies is a surprisingly accurate portrayal of the junkie scene. It very rarely made me feel like I was watching a movie, which is difficult b/c I've seen all of the actors in other roles. It's smart, funny, insightful, and fun. Pretty much every scene is well-shot, with a great gritty eye for detail. Music might just be the real star of this film. I usually know every song I hear in a theater. ThiS soundtrack had me pressing pause, and looking up music I had never heard before. I love to hear deep tracks like this in a film.
