Eric Deggans NPR It doesn't make for the most entertaining holiday special, but as a quirky Christmas card from the patron saint of down-to-earth stardom, it's not half bad. Nov 26, 2019 Full Review Elisabeth Vincentelli New York Post This is the show at its best, effectively balancing wry humor with a straightforward affection for the Christmas songbook (the regular one, not some hipster alt-holiday universe version). Rated: 3/4 Nov 30, 2018 Full Review Megan Garber The Atlantic It's beautiful and haunting and and commercial and confusing and cringe-worthy. So maybe it's also Christmas. Jul 22, 2016 Full Review Andrew Galdi Movie Bitches It's a mess. Apr 29, 2020 Full Review Avaryl Halley Movie Bitches This movie seemed like Bill Murray's character from Aloha gets his own Christmas special. Apr 29, 2020 Full Review PJ Nabarro Patrick Nabarro The whole idea of Bill Murray is that he's funny when he's not trying to be, and that his persona works best when scored against substantial narratives or absurd scenarios. Rated: 2/5 Nov 3, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Bert C A sometimes funny, sometimes corny, but very entertaining old time style Christmas TV special. Directed by Sofia Coppola, Bill plays Bill, as always, but the very eclectic cast do a very strong and fun job of keeping up with him. George Clooney is very funny, Maya Rudolph both shows her expected comic chops and her underutilized vocal chops, Buster Poindexter (David Johanson) brings his usual welcomed and gruff vocal style to the proceedings. I could go on, but I’ve said enough already. A yearly must see for me. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/09/24 Full Review Ross H Is it wierd? Yes. Idk there is just something about it that instantly made it a holiday tradition for us and I wouldn't have it any other way. Sit back, spend some time with your loved ones and enjoy the quirkiness that it is. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/29/24 Full Review Jeff M This is one of the more unusual Christmas specials I've ever seen. There's almost an hallucinogenic quality to the whole thing as if the creators were experimenting with peculiar substances while forming the concept of everything here. Whatever they were doing, it works for me!! This is right in my comedy wheelhouse, with countless celebrities coming in and out of the picture making brief and unusual appearances. This has to be one of the strangest and most eclectic combination of stars ever assembled for a holiday special. Murray is not a performer to whom I automatically gravitate, but when he is given strong material like LOST IN TRANSLATION or GROUNDHOG DAY, he is exceptional. This special was directed by Sofia Coppola, who also directed him to an Oscar nomination in TRANSLATION, and she seems to know how to handle him perfectly. It's an unusual hour, but it has a surprising amount of melancholy and longing that I think is quite appropriate for this time of year. It's not going to leave you in buoyant spirits, but if you grab a drink or two and sit in front of the fire, you might find it casting a rather hypnotic spell on you. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/08/24 Full Review Richard L Supposedly, this was supposed to be fun and entertaining, but the terrible script makes sure it never even gets close to either. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/30/23 Full Review Robert R Certainly not Bill Murray's best movie, better than Garfield, which he said he regretted in Zombieland. At the very least can be played in the background to listen to the songs, while you do something else. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/01/23 Full Review peter S I love Bill Murray and cannot think of one movie he featured in that I did not like. I love Bill Murray but this is bad. He should fire the people who convinced him to shoot this sad excuse for a movie. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
