But this was an awesome thriller movie for those who like the suspense without excessive gore and demonic themes. Definitely kept you guessing up until the end. My husband and I were both really surprised its ratings were so low. We both enjoyed it for what it was. Again not a scary horror movie, but a creepy suspenseful thriller. See more Molly F Jul 13 *SPOILERS AHEAD* Do not watch this movie if you are looking for something truly scary. This movie is a representation of post partum depression and the mental struggles that come with it. Although the effect and videography side to the movie was amazing, I feel like it should’ve been more showed that it was a movie about the challenges of mental health. The only reason, though, I feel like I didn’t like the movie is because it had SO MUCH potential the beginning and middle of the movie were great and very suspenseful but I wish it had a more sinister ending that still could’ve included the post partum theme. Another good thing about this film was the symbolism, an example of this is when the mother first discovered the pink ribbon, she used it to tie her hair back, but since that scene every shot of her hair gets more disheveled as the film progresses, representing her mental health and depression progression in the movie timeline. Also if you can’t handle listening to a baby cry, don’t watch it . I almost stopped watching it because Liam’s crying drove me nuts, but it also helped with the effect to the movie because the sound of a baby crying tenses people up so they get more scared during jump-scares.
