Dennis Harvey 48 Hills It’s not a great movie, but it’s better than it needed to be, borrowing a bemused/celebratory attitude towards pop megastardom from A Hard Day’s Night. May 23, 2022 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com Hallstrom creates such a giddy environment of interviews and stage domination, it easy to get sucked into the touring whirlwind and appreciate this special moment in the history of a legendary group. Sandra Enjoyed the music and history behind a group I enjoyed in the past. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/13/22 Full Review Jithin K I'm definitely not the target audience for this. I've never understood the appeal of a concert movie when it is considered a movie. This just adds a 10-minute mockumentary aspect that is peppered throughout the movie. I think this did what they set out to do. I've never listened to ABBA before, so the first few songs made me think I'd hate them, but by the end, I thought a few of the songs were pretty good. So maybe it really worked. But I just can't accept these stuff as films by themselves. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/03/24 Full Review joel h ABBA: The Movie is a chance for the band to showcase their Australian tour with a paper-thin plot constructed around that concept. This pseudo-documentary doesn't really reveal any new information about the band, but if you're a fan of ABBA or just want to get to know them a little bit, this will keep you entertained. I enjoyed spending some time with these Swedish superstars in the seventies. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Not much of a storyline. Yet a great movie about one of the most popular bands ever at the peak of their career. Any person interested in popular music should watch this ! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Not a great film but good concert footage . Had to fast forward though the non Abba stuff Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/17/21 Full Review Audience Member A must for Abba fans but also worth a watch for fans of Lasse Hallstrom. The poorly weaved storyline should make this a bomb but it just makes it even more kitsch and endearing. The concert footing showcases Abba at their peak. Take a chance on it..!
