Namrata Joshi Outlook The 3D SFX add to the spectacle. But the third dimension serves as a gimmick rather than a thought or philosophy, as in Wim Wenders's immersive Pina. Rated: 2/4 Jun 26, 2015 Full Review Mike McCahill Guardian ABCD2 is the latest film to recognise that - however you gender your gaze - there is an abiding pleasure in watching bodies in motion, and choreographer-turned-director Remo d'Souza keeps nudging more of them on. Rated: 3/5 Jun 22, 2015 Full Review Scott Foundas Variety Watching this movie won't make you smarter, but it just might, more than most, leave you feeling happier than you were when you walked in. Jun 19, 2015 Full Review J Hurtado ScreenAnarchy If you want to see some amazing dancing like you've never seen before, ABCD 2 is your joint. Nov 3, 2017 Full Review Shilpa Jamkhandikar Reuters Beyond the dance performances, ABCD 2 is disappointing and lacks cinematic flair or energy. Jun 27, 2017 Full Review Nandini Ramnath Scroll.in Since ABCD 2 aims to be bigger than its predecessor and magnifies its spectacle to 3D proportions, it takes no chances. aurora To me, I think the second movie really lost its touch from the first one. The first one kind of had a touching story line and also the songs and dance are so meaningful in the first movie compared to the second movie, sure the dancing is great but it lost its rawness. I think what made it worse was when they changed the main characters and instead of people from poor backgrounds working as a team to rise to the top, this focused on dancing, the three main characters and a bad storyline. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/29/22 Full Review Audience Member Great music, good dance but a weak storyline. Still qualifies as a decent watch! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member A hindi-language film produced by Disney that is about a dance troupe from India that gets caught cheating, then hires a new choreographer to have a chance at an international dance competition in Las Vegas. I know this movie is about dance, but there are way too many dance montages in the film to allow for any kind of meaningful story. Most of the problems that come up are resolved within 15 minutes. There is little to no character development, so the actors weren't allowed to act, just know the choreography. The movie is also about an hour too long. Skip it. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review r 9 Disney steps in to do the sequel to 2013's 'ABCD', not that you'd notice as the two films are virtually indistinguishable. 'ABCD 2' is just as slow and limp as the original, though once again does feature a crap tonne of dance so if that's all you want then you might like this. I didn't, simply put. They even made this one slightly longer, which was a very bad call. This film does have a bit more of an actual plotline to follow, but it isn't anything of substance and quickly takes on all the clichés you'd expect it to. Like the other, it is very poorly written. Be original, if nothing else. As for the cast, Prabhu Deva reprises the role of Vishnu - I found his acting to be a tad better this time. As before, though, no-one else onscreen sticks out. Very bloated, for the second time running. Forces too much and goes on for way too long. Poor. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Great dance sequences in the film. Smart move by director Remo D'Souza to recast the best dancers, Dharmesh Yelende and Lauren Gottlieb, from the prequel. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member An extremely well made formula movie even if only in parts. Emotionally supercharged predictable sequences that would disappoint even those used to not expecting anything new in movies (two minor twists one right at the beginning and the other at the end). Even then the movie works and works well simply because of the outstanding execution of key moments. Flawless dances, good songs and lovely fresh/innocent cast although some terrible acting.
