Jim P For an old movie it’s quite gripping. The attack in the second half is full of suspense. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/22/24 Full Review Mike R Dear dear Johnnie. Oh dear, dear Johnnie. One of Dear Johnnie's finest moments. Allegedly. Midget submarines + Dear Johnnie = the dream team. Maybe. Lots of opportunities for Dear Dear Johnnie to frown a lot. In a frowny, Dear Dear Johnnie way. Tell you what: after this film, if he were my midget submarine commander and I were dressed in uncomfortable-looking leather swimming trunks, and Dear Dear Johnnie frowned and said: "up that ladder and jump in the tank lad"... well, I'd probably have to do it. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review andy f A competent World War II movie made only a decade after the end of the war. Told with little drama but a bit of cinematic flair, this is a solid film but it leaves the story half told. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member a good British movie Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Good but rather stiff British WWII film about British midget submarines sinking the German battleship "Tirpitz". It was good, but the film kept making me think of the Anglo-Zulu War scene in "Monty Python's The Meaning of Life". I guess I just prefer the tough talking American sub captains like Robert Mitchum or Clark Gable in "The Enemy Below" or "Run Silent, Run Deep".
