Garvin B I watched this with my wife. We found it a bit over the top for the first few minutes, but then settled in for a pleasant time of watching an improbable but innocent accident turn into a hilarious dilemma. In the end, it all worked out, as it should in a romantic comedy. It was an afternoon spent well. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/20/23 Full Review Beatriz F The plot was terrible and the direction was sloppy. Super inconsistent details. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/31/23 Full Review A S Terrible plot and so fake. Who would go to a wedding shopping with long distanced relative? Just seeing how many days Olivia is spending with Alex's family is simply weird. Even when they go on family house tour, why Alex not going along with his fiancé? Despite fiancé being a terrible person, it is not realistic Alex is almost acting like dating Olivia. the plot and acting seems so awkward and unrealistic. I just got cringes watching it and ended up not finishing it. I can just predict what will happen in the end🙄Olivia will have to tell the truth to Alex's family and his family liking her more than his fiancé and Alex realizing he likes Olivia better than his fiancé. Too predictable and boring. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/08/23 Full Review Alice R I really enjoyed this film even if it was patchy. The story line was beautiful and I found the end very emotional. It's not brilliant but I was very glad to watch it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/30/23 Full Review Peter P 3/5 and here is why. First, throw out the notion that this is being compared against actual major studio movies. Its not. I am comparing it to its own genre of clean, B-level movies that are safe for the whole family to watch. EVEN in this specific niche of movie, this movie has pretty cheesy, over-the-top overacting by almost every character. Every facial expression. every body movement. It's all gonna be way overacted, no subtlety, judt maximum energy and affectation the entire time. The directorial style and decisions were also a bit amateurish, like starting with a 10-minute narrated intro, and the weird disjointed storytelling that doesn't seem to work quite as well as it could have. the plot itself seems like they adapted "While You Were Sleeping," even down to the "Joe Jr." type character who talked exactly like him and had the EXACT same character arc and role. And the whole "fall in love with your fake cousin - oh hooray she's not your cousin" was just cringy and a bit icky. So why am I giving it 3 stars? Well, the movie still had redeeming qualities and it did pass the time and it did have a sweet ending. Also, I want to throw them a bone for giving their all in making this. so, 3/5! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/06/23 Full Review Mary Ann O hank you and Wow! I've watched Accidental Family on several occasions, and it has warmed my heart like you wouldn't believe! I keep going back to it, as there is a chord which it keeps beautifully striking. So many gifts in this movie.... Kinsey has a remarkable gift of comedy which, I find, so rare and refreshing. Her character, of several "sides/personas" delights me and I find joy in her presence. Additionally, this sweet movie lends me belief and knowing that miracles are ever-present, most especially in today's crazy world. Miracles happen each and every day; we just need to be aware of them. They are SO PRESENT! One last thing if I may add, please...... Alex has a line in the movie where he tells Olivia that she has "brought hope to the family." Wow! That's where I seem to live in my comments.... such a gorgeous place to live. Accidental Family is a movie which presents HOPE to me....I am so grateful for this message and I am so blessed for the gorgeous uplifting of soul which the essence of this film provides. THANK YOU!
