Audience Member Yoon-ki Lee is a slice-of-life, sit back and observe kind of auteur, a method that provided great results when he directed Kim Jisu in "This Charming Girl." There is no one of quite that caliber here. Han Hyo-ju is charming, if perhaps a little too low-key, but the film focuses on many of her ad-lib family members, spreading the interest too thin. Her revelation at the end is like a post-script, an afterthought more than a motivation. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member interesting movie. slow paced. it's 12 hours or so in a life time where the lives of people that were not supposed to meet intertwine then part away. i liked it. small but very good cast. the scenes in the house are very strong. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member I dont know why but this movie attract me someway.it ended at 12 pm and there was school next day.but i enjoyed it someway.Maybe i was hungry for a movie like this. This was calm but gives big messages. The story was interesting near that acting was very good. And i heard it has shoten by a digital camera in 10 days.In this kinda movies if the director's work is good, you like watching it.director makes the movie a movie. It has good camera angles even with a digital camera. So it looks like a low budgeted movie but still hard worked. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Well acted and low key drama with some nice naturally lit photography. The scenes in which the family and neighbors mourns the dying man in all their phoniness was funny, like something that Imamura would have done. Aesthetically this was quite underwhelming though. There are too many closeups and shot-reverse-shot cutting. Somehow the revelation at the end felt kind of cheap and sentimental, I would have prefer if it was revealed in a more subtle manner or if the film concentrated on her more. Nonetheless it was still fairly enjoyable.
