Reve Walsh (JoBeth Williams) takes her six-year-old son Adam (John Boston) to the mall and briefly leaves him in the toy department -- but he's gone when she returns. Reve and her husband, John (Daniel J. Travanti), search tirelessly for Adam, but to no avail. Frustrated by the underwhelming support the FBI offers in a case like theirs, the Walshes create their own organization to help find Adam, and then set out to create new regulations to reunite missing children with their parents.

Mike P Spoilers...Well-intentioned, Emmy Nominated docudrama from the 80s; which was heralded back in the day for its breakthrough treatment of the issue of child abductions...And it certainly doesn't pull it's punches in it's portrayal of the very real kidnapping of Adam Walsh back in 1981; and then his subsequent brutal murder, which shocked the nation...But parts of it haven't aged well...It's quite slow, and there's many dry spots and filler which don't play well today. And though the acting by Daniel J Travanti and JoBeth William is terrific; and it's certainly a worthy subject; I still can't quite recommend this on craftsmanship alone. Not recommended.
