Davey Stone (Adam Sandler), a 33-year old party animal, finds himself in trouble with the law after his wild ways go too far. In keeping with the holiday spirit, the judge gives Davey one last chance at redemption -- spend the holiday performing community service as the assistant referee for the youth basketball league or go to jail. Matthew Rozsa Salon.com There aren't enough creative Yiddish insults in the world to adequately express how much I hate Adam Sandler's "Eight Crazy Nights." Rated: 0/4 Dec 2, 2018 Full Review Nell Minow Common Sense Media Ouch. Lame Sandler attempt at holiday humor. Rated: 1/5 Sep 2, 2010 Full Review Time Out The film might have been funny if it weren't so poorly executed and fixated on bodily functions. Jan 26, 2006 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy The corporate pimping is actually far more offensive than the scatological humor. Rated: 1.5/4 May 8, 2023 Full Review Cory Woodroof 615 Film The juvenile nastiness can be pretty darn funny when it clicks, but the fact that you actually feel for any of these characters is a testament to the attempt to tell a meaningful story. Dec 17, 2022 Full Review Carson Timar ButteredPopcorn While Eight Crazy Nights might not quite be the "nauseating concoction" that Rotten Tomatoes describes it to be, admittedly the film is rather poor overall. Rich S When he looks back on his movie legacy, Eight Crazy Nights might end up being Sandler's biggest regret. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/22/24 Full Review Basma M It gets one star - purely for the animation alone. Clearly, the animators worked very hard on this. It's a shame the writing team didn't meet the same standard. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/17/24 Full Review Isaak howmanyhotdogsdidyoueat i thinkitwas35 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/05/24 Full Review Carl T I am a big fan of 2D animation, but GOOD LORD, this movie is so grotesque and unfunny, and I absolutely DESPISE that it's trending on TikTok right now. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/26/24 Full Review 8 C I FUCKING LOVE 8CRAZY NIGHTS IT CHANGED MY LIFE "8 Crazy Nights" is nothing short of a holiday marvel, as if the gods of humor and heart themselves came together to craft this animated gem. Directed by Seth Kearsley and brought to life by Adam Sandler’s unforgettable voice work, this film transcends the typical animated comedy and becomes a festive masterpiece. From the moment it begins, you can feel the magic in the air. The animation is nothing less than celestial—vibrant, lush, and a feast for the eyes. The snowy town of Dukesberry feels like a sacred landscape, each flake of snow falling with purpose, and the characters move with an energy that feels almost otherworldly. Sandler’s Davey Stone is a character of mythic proportions, a fallen man whose journey towards redemption is a reflection of humanity’s timeless struggle to find hope in the darkest of times. Whitey Duvall, with his high-pitched voice and enormous heart, is the unsung hero of the film—an angelic figure sent to guide Davey (and us) toward light and laughter. The emotional depth in Whitey’s struggle for acceptance and Davey’s ultimate realization of what family and forgiveness mean is profound, almost as if the gods themselves scripted this divine comedy to show us that no soul is too lost to be found. Even the humor, full of Sandler’s trademark absurdity, feels touched by divine hands. The blend of juvenile pranks, musical numbers, and emotional moments is perfectly balanced, like a cosmic harmony of laughter and love. "8 Crazy Nights" is more than just a holiday movie—it's an offering from the comedic deities, a gift to those who seek both laughter and lessons during the holiday season. Whether you celebrate Hanukkah or not, this film will resonate deeply, warming your heart with the glow of humor, redemption, and holiday spirit. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/23/24 Full Review Phil B This movie is fantastic it does exactly all you would want a festive animated adam Sandler movie to do as a kid I really enjoyed this film and still enjoy it as an adult there is great story to be told in this move beneath the comedy and some good catchy songs it's also impressive that Sandler does most of the voices for the film compared to Sandlers recent movies this one is a true winner and to me a classic Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/06/24 Full Review Read all reviews
