Kimberley Jones Austin Chronicle Rated: 2.5/5 Oct 2, 2005 Full Review Rick Groen Globe and Mail Narratively, what we have here is a basic road movie, a genre that too often doubles as an excuse to hide a flawed script -- merely an episodic series of loose vignettes. Rated: 2.5/4 Mar 19, 2002 Full Review Tom Sime Dallas Morning News We realize early on that nothing much is going to happen ... and it's hard to stay fully engaged with a film that, frontal nudity notwithstanding, plays it so safe. Dec 6, 2001 Full Review Emanuel Levy EmanuelLevy.Com Rated: 2/5 Jul 5, 2005 Full Review Brandon Judell PopcornQ delightful new road comedy by the equally delightful directors/lovers Olivier Ducastel and Jacques Martineau. Dec 10, 2002 Full Review Paul Malcolm L.A. Weekly It would all be too obviously feel-good if Ducastel and Martineau weren't also tuned in to the liberating drift of the open highway and a sharp native humor that adds needed flesh and blood to their walking metaphors. Audience Member This is a beautiful, unpretentious film. Sami Bouajila is gorgeous as is his portrayal of Felix and Patachou as Mathilde was perfectly cast and brilliantly played. If you're studying French, or just a casual student of language and come across the term "Joie de vivre", then look no further than this film for its definition because they fit each other to a T. I've often lamented the sad state of American mainstream film but if you care to see a film done right and without a hundred million dollar budget, here it is. What the French do right seems so effortless, too; a simple story, exception players, film it in France. Olivier Ducastel has my vote for Director of the Century, just from this one film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member This was a tolerable movie. Not impressive by any means. You can find racism everywhere, appreciate the love that you already have Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Perhaps only French could make a potentially gloomy background (Felix, the main character, is a gay, HIV+, Arabian in France who has just being laid-off; with a paternity question) into something so positive, optimistic & laid-back. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Life is a journey.. Family is those who cares about you.. Patachou and Sami is just great in this. Enjoyable. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member It's an interesting concept, and although the story is good, it does sometimes get a bit weird. But overall, it is an okay movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member una road movie bien particular Felix se pone en búsqueda de su padre que nunca ha visto pero en el camino descubre a una verdadera familia todos ellos desconocidos Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Read all reviews
