Teresa W Well written, low budget. ** Great for kids 6-12yrs. Good adventure story! Not too sweet or sentimental, a few jokes for adults. ** They clearly spent their budget on animating Rufus. The opening set-up is a lot like Princess Bride (grandfather reading kids a story), the acting and film style is similar to PBS's Wishbone from the late 1990's (solid amateur acting, bright, simple shots, limited sets, some green screen/CGI). ** A tease at the end for a second movie. No ending credit scenes. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/05/23 Full Review sophia e Absolute rubbish. I have never seen a film that is as pathetically stupid as this. The actors are terrible, the characters are the most annoying people in the history of existence, the plot should be inside of a bin on the side of the pavement, and the CGI is worse than just using light bulbs. There is a scene at the end where a dragon gets killed, and the special effects are so terrible it made me laugh out loud. Rufus almost dies at some point, and I was seriously hoping that he died. This movie relies on CGI which is probably better not to talk about, and the whole thing is a waste of everyone's time. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member LOL, this ****ing movie is unfunny, unoriginal, and has the ********t cast ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Spoilers ahead, though there ain't much to spoil really. What the hell is this movie? It is W I L D. starts off a la The Princess Bride with grandpa reading a tale about two wizards battling over amulet and a spellbook that can save a whole realm. Lilith, the sorceress, says pretty plainly that not all realms should be saved, cementing herself as a real bad witch. Abbott throws the spellbook into a portal and then teleports himself elsewhere. Oh and gets amnesia. Rufus is some tiny furry thing that's Indiana Jones or something. He teams up with the two kids who find the amulet to track down forgetti the wizard and get his spellbook back. Oh, the girl knows Latin before she knows how to choose a bra. They find the wizard and National Treasure his spellbook from the Library Of Congress or something. And find out that Rufus' pappy fought in The Battle Of Five Armies and he's gonna keep telling you that for a while. Yeah, Tolkien is real for some baffling reason in this world. This is literally all in the first thirty or so minutes. This. Movie. Is. Wild. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Picture the scene of a board meeting where the boss says no idea is a stupid idea, and one guy says how about Adventures of Rufus the Fantastic pet? This is that stupid idea. Fuck the writers, fuck the producers, fuck the actors, fuck the CGI, but most of all, fuck redbox for putting this in their selection. You hurt me redbox. I'm seeking out therapy Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member I absolutely loved this movie, it's funny and adventurous and its full of fantasy.
