Jay Weissberg Variety An energetic, nicely balanced docu containing all the necessary elements for sports reportage with the added advantage of meatier issues attached. Jul 7, 2010 Full Review Nick Schager L.A. Weekly A cautionary rejoinder to typical sports-movie uplift, elucidating how athletics remain a dangerously precarious foundation upon which to construct lasting peace. Jun 7, 2010 Full Review Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times The soccer footage, although not the centerpiece one might expect, provides a vivid sense of the game's ardent, sometimes inflammatory fans and its significant place within the Israeli zeitgeist. Rated: 3/4 May 21, 2010 Full Review Nora Lee Mandel Film-Forward.com Captures a stressful roller coaster ride during an emotional year where politics brings the usual passions and pressures of partisan soccer fans into even sharper relief. Audience Member Excellent human element to the film - an examination of personalities in a volatile region during a volatile time - if not too deeply political (as strange as it may seem - it doesn't delve TOO DEEPLY into the Israeli / Arab politics, though it is always there as the elephant in the room) it's a good watch and shows the passion of sports and politics intersecting.
