After the Wedding benefits from solid casting and strong source material, yet proves stubbornly resistant to spark to emotional life.

Caroline Siede The Spool [It] doesn't fully trust its own story and tries to dress it up with an air of ominous mystery that winds up undercutting the drama rather than adding to it. Jan 20, 2020 Full Review Lisa Mullen Sight & Sound The film's top-notch cast are let down badly enough by the clunking screenplay, but they are entirely defeated by the ethical vacuum at its core. Nov 15, 2019 Full Review Simran Hans Observer (UK) The Sad Rich White People Movie is one of my favourite genres, and indeed the white people in this English-language remake of Danish film-maker's Susanne Bier's 2006 tearjerker are very sad and very rich. Rated: 3/5 Nov 3, 2019 Full Review Serena Seghedoni Loud and Clear Reviews After The Wedding is a deeply moving story about acceptance and identity with more than one twist and extraordinary performances from Michelle Williams and Julianne Moore. Marian M Movie is generally good except for the real mom-daughter relationship which is not too explored and justified. And real mom's facial expression should at least change a bit other than looking angry/sullen most of the time, and it's too impossible there is no mother's instinct and instead berate her ex for reneging on their agreement. She should at least be thankful the other half made a different decision and by the way that their daughter grew up and seeing how lovely she has come to be should be a great pride and joy no matter what. If there are moms out there who regret giving up on their kids or abandoning them and find themselves stalking on their children - how ironic that she becomes attached to another kid in India and never for once is being shown at least just longing for someone, her daughter this time and wondering perhaps what she looks like now or whoever adopted her or if she is having a good set of parents, happy family life. ??? And just being grateful to the adoptive mom instead of being so doubting of her intentions when it comes to giving out the donation for the kids in India. She should be a 100% thinking of what it will do to the kids instead of fretting and entertaining differently of any doubtful acceptance. Hope this review strikes a chord in the heart. :-) :-( Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/17/19 Full Review Karen W Great storyline with a few twists, just a little slow in places.
