Director Brian Falk, who co-wrote the script with Mark David Keegan, worked well with cinematographer Petr Cikhart to keep the story visually interesting, despite the limitations placed on the tale by the monotonous setting.

Not having heard about this and finding it at random i was expecting i might get a little ways through it before switching to another movie. There are very few films with this setting that have just been so disappointing. I was wrong about this movie though. From start to finish my attention was to the screen. Well written, acted and filmed well. As good as the soundtrack was it just didn't seem to fit strangely enough. A minor detail but still good music. One of those movies for my list to watch again and again through the years ahead.

A great film depicting great courage against tremendous odds. I felt like I was on the journey with them, starving, thirsty and weak. I also enjoyed that sharks featured in this too!

Against the sun se une a el estilo de Biopics sin interes que pierde fuerza a lo largo de su historia, el primer tramo del film es impecable da muchas expectativas de los que sera una gran historia, pero su segundo acto y su final destruyen las expectativas de esta cinta que se va a lo basico.
