Michael M Overall this movie was pretty good. I did notice that Chuck Norris’s appearances were fairly limited until closer to the end. But the ending, for me personally, is why I liked the film so much. I grew up in a small and very quaint town. I lived next door to my grandparents, and was very close to them. My grandfather, was like a second father to me, and as he worked tirelessly on the family farm during the Great Depression, I learned things from him and saw a way of life that has forever shaped me into who I am today. As is sometimes common, and maybe the reason the term goes “my late grandfather”, I lost him before I was ready for if. But now that I’m making my way, and am doing my best to be the best man I can be, his influence and the light he showed me is stronger with me now than it had ever been. Frequently I think, if only he were here with me now. But I know that up in heaven, he’s smiling, with the same pride I saw in his eyes so many years before. Again, considering timelines, I can’t help but wonder how many other people can say the same. Either way, while shrouded in light, looking down on the camera, Chuck Norris said something that I very much wanted to hear. As if shining a light down from heaven, he said “I just want you to know, how proud I am of you. Because you’re living your life with a purpose. I love you champ. I always have. I always will.” I really needed to hear that. And is it really such an odd concept, to say that you can see a loved one’s soul shining through somebody else? At any rate, the same night, I wrote a letter to him. Just to let him know a few things. I plan to share it with my grandmother when it’s okay to do so. My hat goes off to Chuck Norris, but such an incredible ending to a movie. One I was not expecting, but one that hit me right where I needed it.
