After an acclaimed, extended run on Broadway, comedian Alex Edelman brings his solo show JUST FOR US to HBO in an all-new comedy special. Ultimately, the show wants us to be as hopeful as Edelman, while also reminding us that sometimes we need safe spaces to simply exist. And we sure need a lot of hope right now.

He's not as to the bone as Carlin nor as belly laughing hilarious as George, but he hits enough high notes to make it well worthwhile. Ironically, his best social meditations are less about the white nationalists, and more about his observances about growing up and being Jewish, and what that meant/mean to him. He very artfully weaves interesting digressions into the main event. His take on Hanukkah, from a Jewish boy here of the jealousy of the Christians and Christmas was so right on.

Wow. This performance is unbelievably funny and impeccably put together. There’s a bigass laugh at least once a minute and exactly zero filler / downtime. This dude is so young, so original, and so talented! He’s gonna have a helluva future. It’s thoughtful and it’s hilarious, and Alex absolutely kills it.

didnt laugh once, not sure Alex wants to be a philosopher or comedian??? he fails at both delivering boring monologues and weird style mimicking Seinfeld

Maybe the best comedy act I’ve seen in years. Alex Edelman had my wife and I rolling in laughter for 85 minutes.
