Erick Estrada Cinegarage ... A story stripped of imagination, evident and precocious, repetitive and soulless. Mar 7, 2024 Full Review Matt Donato Bloody Disgusting Alice in Terrorland is better than I expected, but still not quite an essential addition to the grim fable canon. Rated: 2.5/5 Feb 15, 2024 Full Review Milagros Amondaray La Nación (Argentina) Instead of fully delving into the universe of mirrors where there seems to be no logic, the director limits himself to using Carroll's text more as a marketing gimmick than genuine inspiration. false t Okay where do I start? The beginning of this movie was incredibly confusing, with a bunch of random out of context shots being quickly shown before a 5-6 minute credit scene with some kaleidoscope footage plays through. After that wonderful intro to an even better movie, we get introduced to our main character and her grandmother, who proceed to talk about the main character’s dead parents and "the forest" (which never comes back up after the first half of the movie btw). The grandmother also talks about the house (Wonderland) and where it’s name originates, as well as where Alice’s name comes from. Alice then plays an old grand piano and when her grandmother starts playing Alice suddenly vomits. Turns out she’s sick so her grandmother puts her to bed and reads Lewis Caroll’s "Alice In Wonderland" to her while she sips on some tea… and then this movie goes from boring to hilariously awful. We then get treated to Alice dilly dallying along before she runs across some dude in a rabbit mask and a bloody hoodie who tells her to follow him to his "important meeting". When the two of them reach the end of the trail Alice sees Deedle-Dee and Deedle-Dum just splayed out dead on the ground before the rabbit guy says something along the lines of "it’s rude to be late." And "I always poison the cake." Alice then says "you killed them for being late?" And bro just says "I killed them for being late." In a slightly eviler manner before talking about her parents dying. Alice then wakes up and talks to her nan before passing out again and we proceed to get the same thing repeatedly with different poorly acted characters before the ending where we find out that her grandmother has been poisoning her because she wanted the inheritance from Alice’s parents… despite this never being mentioned before, also why would her grandmother need Alice’s inheritance when she even says herself that her house is "too big" for her? I left out some things but please save yourself a 77 minute slow motion montage of poor acting and even worse storytelling, this movie isn’t worth viewing unless you enjoy feeling your brain drip out of your ear canals. :) Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/18/25 Full Review Catherine O. Super cool idea but the execution didn’t pan out. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/26/25 Full Review Nicole D The story had potential to be a great film, however the execution was terrible. Dull with amateur acting. Not the worst waste of time, though. I enjoyed it enough to continue watching. Your typical “movie reviewers” will hate on it but it is very good. It’s a twisted story with great acting, great set designs, and awesome effects. Overall the movie is good, I think people should really give it a chance and stop letting hater tear down indie movies! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/27/25 Full Review Read all reviews
