Eddie Harrison film-authority.com ...there’s some imagination behind the effects, with Maria Bava involved.. The final scenes have a certain dreamlike quality, and the whole package, while laughable in comparison to Scott’s film, is compulsive viewing for lovers of Italian Eurotrash.... Jens B Well, the first hour is really hard to endure. Simply because hardly anything happens. Yes, there are a few gore effects, the English dub is charmingly bad, and the setting with the stalactite cave at least provides a hint of atmosphere. When the alien (which we never see) hunts its victims, the film becomes moderately entertaining. What really made me laugh (be it out of joy or slowly setting in madness) was the experimental(?) score. Oliver Onions MUST have been the name of the cat that ran across the piano and synth. Even for die-hard fans of trash, it's only conditionally recommended – for example, when the night is already late and your eyes are slowly closing in anyway.
