Audience Member Oh the things you find on Hulu. I tried but only made it about ten minutes through. Relies too heavily on narration, and not good narration. The actors are pure camp and its just trying too hard to be quirky. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Yeah, if the opening scene was not so odd, I probably would have turned it off. However, I kept hoping for more of that opening scene to show up through out the film and it never quite did. A pretty generic rom-com premise, a weak script, and cheesy acting. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member DUMB. STUPID. TERRIBLE. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member kind a slow but ok i guess Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member happy to see a hawaii made local indie film... not too crazy about the plot but it wasnt horrible Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member First and foremost, I'm just happy I didn't pay any money to see this. You know when romantic comedy trailers say "Critics call 'yadda yadda' smart sexy and sophisticated"? Well, the independent film genre has a word of its own. "Quirky." "Quirky" is now seen as the indie directors goal when making a motion picture. It's like a girl with "a great personality." You just don't have the heart to say she's as big as a house. What I'm saying is this. There's already a Napoleon Dynamite. The acting and cinematography were good. But its everything "All for Melissa" isn't. The entire movie is posted on a website, Hulu.com, for your viewing displeasure. After reading the directors note, it seems that he didn't have much of (or any) budget when making this film. While it may not have costed the director anything to make, it costed movie-goers and video-buyers the $15.50 they'll never see again. Filmmakers need to take something into consideration: a paying audience doesn't give a damn if making movies is your passion. If your film isn't good, they won't take your hopes and dreams into consideration. "Non-refundable" means what it says. There really isn't anything else to call it other than a student film. The plot's been done before and has been done better. But what was the biggest problem was the acting. The main character had better be related to the director, because there is NO excuse for how bad this kid is. His acting skills should STAY in Hawaii and never come to the coast. Harshness aside, you don't need producers and wheelbarrows of cash to make a great film. But there comes a time when actors and a camera just don't cut it. I gave it a 1, just because I'm feeling generous. Still "Rotten" to the core. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Read all reviews
