A film about stand-up should, of course, be funny and "All Joking Aside" has some side splitting moments. But it also has heart, which makes it a rarity in the genre'. The heart here comes from the performances of the three leads.

I really liked it. It is a drama about serious issues told within a story about those brave enough to try to launch a career in stand-up comedy. That said, some of the jokes are funny - especially if you keep in mind they are jokes told by someone just starting out. Other characters are endearing as well - a nice way to spend some time.
