Tomas B felt kind of low budget and simple. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/27/23 Full Review Audience Member I think i've found mcu's wolverine Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member So messy I needed to check my seat for the origin of the stink. Milo Gibson might shine in a better movie but this crock aint it. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Nicholas S Decent enough movie. Good action scenes throughout. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/24/21 Full Review Jay K Take it from me. Don't listen to these Siskel and Ebert wannabe critics. It was a slam bang action thrill ride from start to finish. Action was high grade, top notch. Story was believable. A bit much on the cellphone tracking but it wasn't ridiculous. These know it alls would give 5 stars to any of Arnie's quick cash grab movies but downvote great sleeper hits like these just to give themselves a pat on the back. Don't listen to the naysayers and give it a shot. The techniques used like room clearing and breaching sequences were just all too great! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/30/20 Full Review bill w David Cross is not in this movie, just to continue with my theme of at least mentioning David Cross in every review I've done so far. Aside from that I enjoyed this movie a lot and I find myself questioning my taste in movies based on comparison with the current ratings here. I did in fact recommend this to a friend who is a firearms aficionado. I like the tactical combat. The knife fighting in this movie has the ring of authenticity to it which I admit may be reinforced by my own naivete. The low budget also doesn't bother me though I can see how in comparison to others from this genre it is noticeable. I think most critics and people misunderstand this film. To my way of thinking this is not a spy film or an espionage film, but rather a jaded war film (the veteran with the 1,000 yard stare) here redone as asymmetric low-intensity conflict in the modern urban center and I found that an insightful take, both socially and historically. The ending in particular I enjoyed. All during the film one questions the motives of the combatants. Why bother? Do they even care? Are they just in it for the money? The thrill of combat? Personal vengeance? And in the end I think the answer from the hero of the story (and he remains a hero despite the film's postmodern edge) is that at least some of them are fighting for us, the civilians out in the audience. Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter Such an utterly routine, formulaic and forgettable example of its genre that watching it becomes an exercise in endurance. Dec 7, 2018 Full Review Dennis Harvey Variety There's a lot of double- and triple-crossing, culminating in a fadeout that seems to go one plot twist over the line of narrative coherency. Dec 7, 2018 Full Review Barbara Shulgasser Common Sense Media Action-adventure tale has bloody violence and language. Rated: 2/5 Jul 17, 2019 Full Review Jarrod Walker FILMINK (Australia) ... the fight choreography and action sequences are deftly executed but the brutally 'by-the-numbers' scripting, coupled with a considerable lack of character depth or humour, just annihilates any joy that could be derived from the film. Rated: 8/20 Feb 6, 2019 Full Review Frazer MacDonald Film Inquiry It's essentially a parade of the greatest hits of the Espionage Thriller genre, all done on a B-Movie budget. Jan 10, 2019 Full Review Ron Wilkinson It's Just Movies High in the bullets per minute ratings but low on the plot and acting scale, there are better things in store for this cast and crew.
