Audience Member Superb acting from David Jason and Maggie Smith. Sad story with no real resolution--so i deducted 1.5 stars! :-) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Hauntingly moving, this is easily the best depiction of Gallipoli since the eponymous Peter Weir film. The true fate of the Sandringham Company is simply heartbreaking. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Well made drama of a sad episode in the WWI. Too tragic to be termed enjoyable but worthwhile viewing with excellent performances. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Superb acting from David Jason and Maggie Smith. Sad story with no real resolution--so i deducted 1.5 stars! :-) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member If you're looking for an action packed war movie, this isn't it. However, this is more of a realistic portrayal as it does show more of the "behind the scenes" part of battles. But it did seem a little dull at times and upon researching this battle, the exact fate of these soldiers isn't exactly known. The remains have been found but theres no accurate way to depict what happened as theres just no way to tell. Its a real shame actually. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member A very moving film. Good acting all round. A good spin on that WW1 legend of those Allied soldiers disappearing into the mist. Ironic that that battle was fought in the same area that the Trojan War was fought in several thousand years before. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

John Leonard New York Magazine/Vulture None of this would work as beautifully as it does if we didn't believe in Maggie Smith as a Queen Mother worth cherishing...besides waste, there is honor in these two hours. Feb 6, 2018 Full Review Walter Goodman New York Times ... beyond the well-known news that war can be hell on the battlefield and at home, this story just doesn't have much punch or point.
