If Thornton had cut a few extra minutes' worth of pretty horses ... and left in a few more storytelling scenes, this attempt at a Western epic might have had more impact.

This is a great example of a movie critics hate, but a movie that is thoughtful and well done, that you will love. Don’t listen to the haters. Billy Bob Thornton stays true to the book. I’m left wondering if the people who don’t like this movie even read the book because the movie captures the tone of the book perfectly. This is a modern western classic, a rarity in the day and culture in which we live.

Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom

It’s watchable, but rather flat. Same with the cinematography: rarely there is a scene that grabs the viewer.

Hätte ein sehr guter Film werden können, wurde es aber nicht. Immer fehlt etwas, alles zu kurz angerissen, anstatt zur Ruhe zu kommen, wird weiter gejagt. Verpasste Chance, Billy Bob.

Damon & Cruz's love story seems a little microwaved, but the adventure of the story keeps you barely hanging on. Damon plays a character bound to get some horses back and live justly, even if the morality of it all is a little forced.
