Richard Roeper Chicago Sun-Times Thanks in large part to the empathetic and layered performances by the terrific cast, we believe in these characters, and we’re hoping all will work out, even though we know that’s probably not going to be the case. Rated: 3/4 Oct 19, 2024 Full Review Natalia Winkelman New York Times If few of the melodramatic plot lines wrap up by the end, at least the members of the ensemble cast commit to their roles with naturalistic gusto. Oct 17, 2024 Full Review Dwight Brown DwightBrownInk.com [A] very charming family comedy drama. Rated: 2.5/4 Jul 6, 2022 Full Review Ross Anthony Hollywood Report Card There's a pivotal 5-6 minute scene at the 2/3rds mark with Elizabeth Rodriguez, MacKenzie Lansing, and Brian Wolfe that absolutely rocks the screen. Rated: 3/4 Nov 19, 2024 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com …as the title suggests, Allswell in New York is a lively, insightful film, easy to watch and recommend, and full of hard-won wisdom about relationships, family and life in general… Rated: 4/5 Nov 16, 2024 Full Review Monique Jones Common Sense Media This well-acted family drama celebrates the inner worlds of three Latina women as they go through the ups and downs of life. Nader C I really enjoyed it. It's a gripping drama set in New York with an all-star cast, and peppered with comical moments to lighten the mood. This movie is better than most of the stuff you find on streaming services. The acting is great, especially by Elizabeth and Liza; they were phenomenal. Also, Felix Solis is charismatic and engaging as hell. The writing is engaging, realistic, with some funny moments. Every now and then you want to see a movie with real problem, dealing with real problems, making you question your own dealings with your own family, and this film delivered on all of those fronts. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/04/24 Full Review Nadia J Such a touching movie! Really rewarding blend of drama and comedy from a great writer/director. The characters and performances are compelling and the backdrop of NYC is the perfect location for all of these plot threads to unfold Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/27/24 Full Review cv v This is a poignant and emotionally rich film that absolutely deserves a watch! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/22/24 Full Review Nick S I really liked this movie -- the overall direction, camerawork and the quality of the cast were effective. The plot may have had some predictable moments but also some really funny and human moments. Moments of drama mixed in with comedy - felt realistic to life being both funny and dramatic at the same time. I liked the overall theme of family and motherhood - between the sister who wanted to be a mother, the sister who acted like a mother to everyone, and the sister-in-law who struggled to in her motherhood. All three leading ladies played well on their own and together. And the supporting cast were good too. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/22/24 Full Review Tara D This film is a gem! It highlights the power of sisterhood and family! Each scene leaves you wanting more and more! I didn't want the movie to end! Liza, as always, captivates her audience. Everyone gives an excellent performance and Michael Rispoli is hilarious and steals every scene he is in! Soundtrack was sensational! I danced out of the theater! You must go see this movie! Go with your sisters to “Allswell in New York”. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/22/24 Full Review John M A beautiful film, full of heart, realistic and superbly acted.
