Tim Cogshell FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) It's kind of a mishmash of a hundred movies you've seen before. Sep 13, 2019 Full Review Simon Abrams RogerEbert.com It's B-movie neophytes trying to sell a slick, but hollow scenario for a high-concept genre hybrid. American Renegades might look good on paper, but it's pretty tiresome on the screen. Rated: 2/4 Dec 25, 2018 Full Review Dennis Harvey Variety Offers a particularly dumb kind of gung-ho Ugly Americanism... Dec 21, 2018 Full Review Andrew Murray The Upcoming Renegades may have the overblown action set pieces, but underneath there's nothing much to be gained from its uninspired characters and narrative. Not even Simmons could save this one. Rated: 2/5 Feb 2, 2021 Full Review Emilie Black Cinema Crazed American Renegades is an entertaining, fun in spots, actioner that brings a few really good sequences to the table and makes its runtime feel a lot shorter than it actually is. Rated: 3.5 Apr 4, 2020 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue The film's throwback vibe might have yielded more laughs or thrills if it wasn't so aggressively dumb. Bob M When you ask a bunch of simpletons and intellectual lazy to rate a movie, expect a lot of these one star reviews. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/13/24 Full Review Steve C I found it clever and entertaining. It was not your typical, high-action, blow 'em up, shoot 'em (although it had a decent enough amount of both) thriller, but the humor made up for any lack. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/21/23 Full Review E. D Do not listen to the bad reviews. It is a really good movie. The visuals are great. I highly recommend it. It deserves 8+ stars! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/15/23 Full Review Marie C Which Hollywood keeps remaking movie after movie this movie was fresh and funny. Action and funny romance. Loved all the characters in the movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/28/23 Full Review steve d Renegades is predictable but quite a lot of fun. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Liam D Luc Besson (The Warriors Gate, Bandidas) script is very stale but J.K. Simmons (The Gift, Extreme Measures) is very entertaining in a forgettable but not awful action movie Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/18/22 Full Review Read all reviews
