American Skin is worth seeing, for the issues Parker seeks to address, even if it only partially works in leaving a mark. Go to Full Review

Instead of lending immediacy, the padded-out documentary conceit only spotlights the stiltedness, and Parker falls short of building credible drama out of urgent issues. Go to Full Review

Infuriatingly manipulative and insufferably preachy, "American Skin" examines the cultural issues tearing apart our nation and reduces them to cheap theatrics. Go to Full Review

An embarrassing and ham-fisted production posing as a topical provocation on police brutality and race relations in modern American society. Go to Full Review

A L. @bdif37 Sep 25 This movie is a excellent way to see how people see things differently form a police and cultural perspective: excellent film! See more Lloyd S Jul 15 Crap movie. They trying to make you believe they are the victims, but they are not. This movie is manipulated, showing a black man following the officers orders while in the real life they are the opposite. They act tough, lose their temper easily, probably because they abuse drugs like cannabis, which make you paranoid. An officer has standard procedure to follow, if they don't obey they will become a threat. It is simple. Movie itself isn't good, they just cry like babies, both sides, no actual realistic depiction of true events. They just play victims as always. See more Ken M Jan 31 Don't listen to the so-called critics—they're old and judgmental. I thought this would be another 'We Shall Overcome' movie, but to my delight, it was original and bold. This film was deep, capturing the way many Americans feel if they had the courage to stand their ground. It was well-written and well-acted. See more CRYSTAL P 02/22/2024 This movie was amazing. The dialogue, the acting, the real life reliability of the actors. My gosh this should definitely when an Oscar for every actor in the movie. We respect the commentary that the police convicted gave. We felt the empathy of the father. The movement at the end was everything. Those racial profiling needs to END. See more Read all reviews
