After James P. Hoffa, son of the infamous Jimmy Hoffa, is elected president of the Teamsters Union, he's soon entangled in a dispute between the freight company Overnite Transportation and its drivers. The workers go on strike, but as the days drag on and the financial pressures increase, their unity starts to fracture, and factions within the union open up. Allegations of bribery surface, the strike turns violent and, one by one, the protesters face the prospect of defeat.

Executive produced by two time Oscar winner Barbera Kopple, camera's are embedded with the Teamster leaders, led by the next generation Hoffa, and the strikers on the front line of this fight for employee's rights.
