David W Congratulations to the props department for creating the ugliest standard lamp in cinematic history and to the cast for taking this seriously. It's not a terrible film, it's actually quite good of it's type and whilst the horror is primarily implied rather than there being any gore, it's quite effective, largely due to the cast who do a good job. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/17/24 Full Review Eddy C Not that bad of a movie, some TV soap acting, but its an entertaining Sunday movie Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/26/23 Full Review U.W. C At least it is the most entertaining sequel in the series. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/17/23 Full Review Kit V The reason that I am recommending this movie is not obvious after all let's face it this film is ridiculous. The film borrows every clique from just about every 70s and 80s (and before) horror movie that was ever made but it does it in a way that I did not expect. Take the sincerity of the actors, and the ridiculous script and add to that a plot that defies horror logic and you have a horror farce that maybe started out in all earnestness and seriousness yet moves in a direction that defies horror and brings in humor. The point is in the way the actors take on board this stuff with all seriousness and in doing so the film becomes not horror but comedy, elation not fear. The lamp does all this by the way; the plumber killed by sewage, the melting phone in the priest's hand, and the music that begs us to be scared, but we are not. As horror fans, we can't be scared as this is more like a Mel Brookes effort than a true horror. It is hilarious and in its own way very very sweet. I would rate this PG 12 and a half. I was just waiting for Gene Wilder to appear. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/25/23 Full Review michael d One star for the lamp itself. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Even though my belief is that both the talents of Patty and Jane was wasted, this was a cut above most of the later series. As one of Jane's "sisters" sends her a somewhat ugly lamp floor lamp (as a joke), where she bought it at a yard sale of stuff found in the Amityville house. where the evil spirit from the house invades the lamp. The lamp is delivered as soon as Patty and her "family" comes to stay. This movie (Like I said is a cut above from the rest of the series),is interesting to see what happens . Stefan Birgir Stefans sbs.is You won’t find another film that has a scene in which an old lady battles a lamp while the lamp’s cord is wrapped around a young priest’s arm. Rated: 3/5 Jul 17, 2023 Full Review Joe Lipsett Bloody Disgusting The film clearly has a smaller budget and shorter shooting schedule, but credit to the props department for creating one cinema's ugliest lamps and every character in the film commenting on it. This is silly, dumb fun and has two great older actresses Rated: 3/5 Dec 22, 2022 Full Review Tim Brayton Alternate Ending Credit where credit's due: it most have taken some work to make "floor lamp possessed by demons" even more ridiculous-looking than it sounds.
