Synopsis
This comprehensive documentary covers almost 100 years of Australian labor history. Using archival material and interviews, it reveals the ongoing struggle for workers' rights. It begins with the 1890 Shearers' strike, a failed action against the powerful wool industry, which nonetheless gave rise to the Australian Labor Party. The film follows the growing power of unions and details their many victories, including their efforts on behalf of women and Aboriginal Australians.
