Cath Clarke Guardian The movie is grounded by a rock solid performance from the film’s co-writer Luke McQuillan. Rated: 3/5 May 27, 2025 Full Review Donald Clarke Irish Times The ending is sufficiently convincing that it proves easy enough to forgive earlier clunks and creaks. An earthy reminder of easily ignored realities. A tribute to the independent spirit. Rated: 3.5/5 Apr 30, 2025 Full Review Fionnuala Halligan Screen International McQuillan is its sturdiest asset, grounding an increasingly complex plot with a centred performance as Danny. Jul 15, 2024 Full Review James Mottram Radio Times The finale is predictably violent and Rambo-esque as Danny goes full vigilante, but for a while, this is a slow-burn treat. Rated: 3/5 Aug 30, 2025 Full Review Jaylan Salah Geek Vibes Nation It works well when it invests its viewers in the lives of its characters, but rarely satisfies with the suspense and action it promises. Rated: 4.5/10 Aug 4, 2025 Full Review Tom Cassidy Common Sense Media With trauma, a custody battle, gangsters, and homelessness to contend with, lead character Danny faces more than his share of problems in this Irish crime thriller. Georgie O The protagonist Danny was fantastic. Abysmal performance from the young lad, he seriously let's the whole side down, the plot was slow and could have had a deeper impact on the audience. This story is an important one, one that far too may people face and it could have ben told far better. Should have been a BBC series. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/07/25 Full Review Craig L I decided to watch this based on the critic reviews and the billing of Aiden Gillen. The low budget of this indie is apparent. Several of the main actors were less than convincing with their roles. I think the real issue is the underdeveloped script and predictable plotting. Dialogue was simply not natural and it felt as if the actors were not convinced either as they delivered their often silly lines. The unfolding drama was cringe inducing at times. I found it awkward and uncomfortable to sit through. What should have been a gritty revenge thriller turned out to be a juvenile soap opera. Unfortunate. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/01/25 Full Review Joel P I watched until the bitter end. You don't have to; skip it! Gloomy, dismal and utterly contrived, unbelievable and trite. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/29/25 Full Review Stephen C Success in 1 hour and 41 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/19/25 Full Review Read all reviews
