Mick LaSalle San Francisco Chronicle "An Eye for an Eye" may very well be the most unpersuasive documentary ever made. Rated: 2/4 Dec 29, 2016 Full Review Brad Wheeler Globe and Mail A well-layered film makes a fascinating case for forgiveness and a sharp rebuke of Bible-taught eye-for-an-eye revenge. Rated: 3/4 Nov 11, 2016 Full Review Michael Rechtshaffen Los Angeles Times In a retribution-driven era increasingly defined by hate-charged absolutes, "An Eye for an Eye" offers a decidedly more reflective vantage point. Oct 27, 2016 Full Review Emilie Black Cinema Crazed ... a hard documentary to watch in parts due to some of the subject matter and some of the footage used, but it's one a lot of people should watch and could learn a thing or two from. Rated: 4/5 Apr 19, 2020 Full Review Bill Brownstein Montreal Gazette An absolutely stirring and poignant documentary about one man's capacity to forgive and another man's capacity to change. Rated: 4/5 Nov 10, 2016 Full Review Susan G. Cole NOW Toronto Ziv's tendency to press familiar buttons subverts the pic. Rated: 2/5 Nov 9, 2016 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Half a star off for being a dubbed movie which normally I find unwatchable. Here, however, it was obvious from the first scenes that the voice actors had done a great job, and apart from one or two characters, I wasn't put off once I was into the story. Every action anyone took was understandable and it was easy to identify with the MC. Twists at every turn and a surprising and memorable ending. Recommended. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member pretty offensive. It makes the case that Mark Stroman, who is overcome by the events of 9/11 that he kills two men. Strangely, the narration seems to think that killing a Pakistani is completely offeven though we know the part Pakistan played in the hiding of Osama Biun Lauden. The stranhest thing is that two murders offset by 18,000 murders just doesn't square with what the movie tries to tell us, more propaganda then actual story, and it seems hard to credit that the antisemitism involved is somehow connected to this revenge killer then to Muslims extremist or not. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member A good documentary. It made me think about if the newer US generations were taught with all of their history. Other than merely showing them how great they fought the Nazis and Communists, there were a lot of untold abusive events. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting documentary that leaves you optimistic, and a little more forgiving.
