Audience Member Medio lenta la historia. No pasa mucho casi hasta el final. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member A quiet, subtle and honest depiction of an awkward love affair that developes between an injured older man and his young caretaker. Beautiful scenery and restrained dialog give the film a lyrical quality even as the story and acting bring a strongly authentic overtone. All in all a success, even if I felt that it could have gone a bit deeper with the characters. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Excellent movie about coming to terms with our true sexual nature and the struggle to find happiness despite what society may think. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Though this may look like another "Brokeback Mountain" and the pace was rather slow, it was exquisitely well-made. The story set in 1999 is a clever metaphor of the theme, fearing but desiring the unknowns. Genuine and natural human emotions are rarely delivered nowadays. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Okay, so yes, it is a bit too long and it looks like they didn't have any crew at all . . . but damn, there's something about this movie that really works. (I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's Christian Esquivel - he is The Best. Someone make him more famous.) Also, I liked how tender it was? That is a weird way of describing a movie, but it is the closest I can get. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member It's been described as the Basque Brokeback Mountain, and it does live up to the hype. It's a very slow film but keeps you interested throughout. The performances are great, and the story is simple yet powerful and moving at the same time. Everything in the film is down to earth and true to life, the feelings are genuine, the nudity is natural. This is something you rarely see in Hollywood movies.
