Michelle A Anne Frank - Parallel was informative. I found the young actress texting during the event a wee bit annoying. The rest of the documentary was well done. Helen Mirren's narrative was heartfelt. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/15/23 Full Review dennis m The movie is a moving account of Anne Frank and five Holocaust survivors from several countries, narrated by Helen Mirren, who reads from Anne's diary. The hash tagging was nonsensical and a pathetic grab at attempting modern day relevance and whilst I love Helen Mirren, what on earth was she thinking? Over acting and false compassion brings this treatment down to a non returnable level amateur production. One word for Helen, cringeworthy! Helen, I am sure is compassionate towards Anne Frank's plight, however it is masked by awfully adolescent direction. I only persevered because Anne, and the parallel lives represented, deserved to be heard. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member I have been on a history kick recently and this is one of the most potent documentaries on the Holocaust and the impact it has had on the people who lived through it. Absolutely loved this. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member O filme mistura muitas coisas, por exemplo, a história de Anne Frank fica meio "abafada" por tantas outras. Peter Bradshaw Guardian [A] heartfelt and valuable documentary... Rated: 4/5 Jan 23, 2020 Full Review Ruhaan Shah Film Companion Far too overwrought...sophisticated cinematography and editing aren't enough to provide a ramp to the, already broken, narrative. May 24, 2022 Full Review Renuka Vyavahare The Times of India This documentary reminds us how integral freedom is for our survival and existence. Anne's tragedy is brought to life through the heartfelt reading of excerpts of her diary... Aug 4, 2020 Full Review Roger Moore Movie Nation It's a hard story to screw up, and appreciating its simple authority, how quickly this one breezes by and how moving it is in the end, they didn't.
