Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times Take off your thinking cap and simply enjoy the mini-pleasures of "Antboy." Apr 16, 2014 Full Review John Hartl Seattle Times You gotta love a movie that calls itself "Antboy." Unless, alas, you also have to sit through this Danish, dubbed-in-English kiddie movie. Rated: 2/4 Apr 15, 2014 Full Review Brian Costello Common Sense Media Some iffy humor in quirky Danish tween superhero movie. Rated: 4/5 Dec 9, 2014 Full Review Paul Chambers Movie Chambers Wow, talk about creepy! "Antboy" is a live-action film from Denmark about a 12-year-old wallflower bitten by a super-ant and given prepubescent super powers. Rated: D- Jul 26, 2014 Full Review Frank Swietek One Guy's Opinion Hardly a great children's movie, but the young actors are a pleasant enough bunch that at least you don't feel like squashing it. Rated: C Apr 23, 2014 Full Review Witney Seibold Nerdist Antboy is a Danish superhero film, dubbed in English, that plays like a limp, low-budget retread of Spider-Man on its surface, but has a slight off-kilter edge within some of the details, leaving one a little pleasantly baffled. Lee S Yeah, it puts superhero movies where they should be, toungue in cheek humour, funny costumes, over the top storylines and completely belonging to the child audience. In this sense it kinda goes back to the Adam West style Batman series with the comic book "pows" and "whaps!" the cute cheesy hero and villain "till we meet again" dialogue moving away from the overproduced, churned out, dark and grim modern super hero films we're meant to take seriously, where backstories have been rewritten and rewritten completely failing to shake off the ridiculousness of the super hero genre. The worst example of this is "Joker". A film so far removed from the colourful comic book style it could be a film of people working in a factory for all it matters. For these reasons I found it much more watchable than Spider-Man 20, or Batman 32 which are not only ridiculous, they're also devoid of fun and completely dull. That's my opinion anyway. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/03/24 Full Review Dalton F meio ruim, mas da pra assistir. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/01/23 Full Review Karn M the greatest movie of all time Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member I'm more entertained by the whining mob of full grown man-children. They seem to be having a hard time with the fact that this is dubbed and adapted for the US. As far as the movie goes, it's cute. I appreciated seeing the Space Ghost costume cameo. It's a kids movie. It's quirky, predictable and mostly wholesome. Light up, buttercups. While this isn't MCU level material, it's still decent enough to watch. Grab the kids, some popcorn or veggie crisps and spend some time with the kiddos. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member en af de dårligste danske film nogensinde. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member It's really strange that they made a movie called AntBoy and didn't get a single lawsuit from marvel. It is very cheesy and pointless with crappy special effects. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
