Sheila Norman-Culp Associated Press It's downright radical for filmmakers to drop the edgy, been-there sarcasm that infuses many independent films for a full-blown swan dive into fantasy. It would be even better if the fantasy had worked. Jan 23, 2019 Full Review Carrie Rickey Philadelphia Inquirer An appealing, low-budget musical cowritten by and starring Isabel Rose as Billie, whose pluck and talent are tonic -- if as shopworn as her thrift-store threads. Rated: 2.5/4 Dec 11, 2003 Full Review Kirk Honeycutt Hollywood Reporter Ends up little more than a vanity piece for Rose and an exercise in style over substance for Cary. Dec 4, 2003 Full Review Film Threat Rated: 1.5/5 Dec 6, 2005 Full Review Kent Turner Film-Forward.com Without the bawdiness and irony of the Doris Day tribute Down With Love, Anything but Love will also bring to mind the comedies of Judy Holliday. Rated: 2.5/5 Apr 9, 2004 Full Review Brent Simon Entertainment Today Obvious, but sweet-tempered and lovingly put together enough to generally trump such shortcomings. For fans of breezy, feel-good fare only. Rated: C+ Jan 9, 2004 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member This is the very definition of a so-so film. Nothing horrible, but also nothing spectacular. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Don't watch this movie. Seriously. Its a waste of 99 minutes of your life! This is one of the worst acted/directed/produced "movies" ... though I hesitate to call it that.... I have ever seen. To even compare it to classic movies from the '50s is blasphemous. This is simiply pure, unadulterated crap. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Can't believe this movie didn't get picked up. I saw it in Vic Film Fest in 2003 and loved it. A beautiful movie starring Isabel Rose and ... Andrew McCarthy who is like wine - he improves with age. Anyone who loves old Hollywood Movies will get a thrill from this original flick. Cameo by Eartha Kitt! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Anything But Love is a rather lame romantic comedy that tries to be unique but instead falls into almost every romantic comedy cliche trap that you can think of. The plot involves a young girl trying to make it as a cabaret singer in modern day New York. The girl comes from a working class family and sings in a cheesy airport hotel lounge but dreams of making it big. The film mixes romance (your typically love triangle plot) with retro 1950s technocolor musical numbers with little effect. Visually its kind of an interesting movie and you can respect a director that is trying to do something different with the genre but in the end the film just didn't work for me. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member ______________________________________________________________ ** 1/2 ANYTHING BUT LOVE - a cabaret singer (ISABEL ROSE) daydreams that she is in a technicolor musical from the 1950's while trying to find love and live her dream as a singer. It has a few laughs, in a saccharine sort of way, but it would help your enjoyment of this movie if you absolutely love old movie musicals or if you're over 60. With Andrew McCarthey. _______________________________________________________________ Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
