What to Know

Critics Consensus

Apartment 7A is slickly assembled and solidly acted, but the lingering memory of Rosemary's Baby and a predictable prequel template make for a sub(par)lease.

Siddhant Adlakha Variety A mostly-solid film that captures the anxieties of the current moment. Oct 2, 2024 Full Review Robbie Collin Daily Telegraph (UK) ... A diverting appendix to an indisputable classic. Sep 27, 2024 Full Review Emily von Seele Daily Dead Apartment 7A is largely successful, both as a prequel and as a stand-alone film. It carries the unfortunate weight of simply being a prequel to a classic film, but it largely does so with grace [...] Rated: 4/5 Sep 14, 2025 Full Review Samantha McLaren Horror Press With a strong cast, beautiful costuming, and a few stand-out sequences, Apartment 7A is a solid prequel to Rosemary’s Baby — but that’s all it is. Aug 1, 2025 Full Review Rebecca Sayce FILMHOUNDS Magazine Pregnancy horror is experiencing a boom with The First Omen, Immaculate, and Huesera: The Bone Woman all tackling the notion of forced pregnancy in the wake of Roe vs Wade. Candace B. I enjoyed the aesthetic of it. The story was a bit predictable but excellent. And The ending was perfect! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/28/25 Full Review sharon k Naturally it's predictable( which seems to be the most prominent complaint) -I don't see that as a problem. Due to the source material-I don't see how it could not be- while remaining true to the original film. In my opinion-changing such a masterpiece just to surprise the audience would have been a big mistake. The acting was fantastic- the Castevets were spot on- so good! If you're a fan on Rosemary's baby- you will enjoy it! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/14/25 Full Review alessandra p Not horrible by any means. Kept me captivated. I guess I just expected something different. One that I will likely forget very soon. It did well to grab me from the beginning and I enjoyed the ending. Good acting. But yeah just no new premise or anything majorly exciting in my books Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/06/25 Full Review Muhammad T Im really surprised by the bad reviews, this was an excellent horror movie, very similar to Rosemarys baby, but modern, more realistic than most horror movies. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/24/25 Full Review Drew F Well acted and directed. The story line is okay. The back end of the movie gets a little weird and I’m not sure in a good way. Probably wouldn’t recommend but could be a decent one time watch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/23/25 Full Review Zero T Acting is wonderful kept me tense, the story is a prequel but beautifully done and even sad. Definetely old School horror HIGHLY recommend it Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/13/25 Full Review Read all reviews
