Kate Erbland The Dissolve Despite their characters' inability to function as adults, both Prediger and Weixler deploy enough charm to keep Olivia and Nicole engaging and interesting to watch. Rated: 3/5 Apr 9, 2015 Full Review Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times Writer-director-stars Jess Weixler and Jennifer Prediger have created such blurry, unappealing characters that their film is hamstrung from the get-go. That they never find a functional narrative in which to place said characters only makes matters worse. Mar 26, 2015 Full Review Debbie Lynn Elias Behind The Lens Well written characters give [Apartment Troubles] a strong foundation on which [Jess] Weixler and [Jennifer] Prediger build style and technique, complimenting sharp dialogue and performances with superb production values. Dec 14, 2019 Full Review Mark Jackson Epoch Times It would be a drastic understatement to say that one never manages to care about any of these characters. Rated: 1.5/5 Jun 3, 2016 Full Review Sherilyn Connelly SF Weekly Prediger and Weixler are clearly talented, and hopefully have much more cohesive (and funny) work ahead of them. Jan 1, 2016 Full Review Norman Wilner NOW Toronto Apartment Troubles is nothing less than a stealth remake of Bruce Robinson's classic misery farce Withnail And I from writer/director/stars Jess Weixler and Jennifer Prediger. Audience Member pointless and shallow infantilization of young people, bad artwork and bad poetry. not the worst movie out there, but less funny than it was irritating Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member good n funny dramedy Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Arguably one of the most annoying films I have ever seen- terrible pretentious writing, inexcusable bad acting and obnoxious no talent leads- tedious story- Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Frances H Just not very good or even fair. Dismal is the word I'm looking for. I thought Megan Mullally would spice it up, but even she is a dud in this piece of hopelessness. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 12/04/15 Full Review cesare m It appears like a pointless story about two clueless and immature twenty-somethings. But there's more subtlety than that, as the delicate and perfect ending will clearly show. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review lisa m 46 minutes in, worst movie evah, couldn't even finish or watch for a single moment more.
