A boring, suspense-free Paranormal Activity rip-off that feels long even at just 90 minutes.

Tom S Started off with some real promise & then turned to silly. Blair With Project goes to the moon but at least that film was original. Plus why not just rip off Alien while you're at it. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/16/23 Full Review Matt T It's a fun film if you enjoy outer space and the niche corner of the Horror Genre it inhabits. The sound and visual teams deserve a good pat on the back for their work, as their work really makes it feel like you're watching two men struggling to survive on the surface of the moon. The actors too give their level best to make their performances deliver. With a better script and a different director, This could have been a really good film that reached a wider audience. But for what it is, it's a fun spooky romp for space and Sci-fi lovers. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/15/23 Full Review Jack R Quite underrated, and an entertaining watch for horror and found footage fans. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/18/23 Full Review Rick B I don't understand how or why the reviews are so low for this movie. I thought it was great. The "footage" was chilling and really did come off like vintage 70s NASA footage. The storyline and acting was about as good as you could expect. There was also a shocking ending that was really intense I thought. I would recommend this film if you're a found footage fan. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/02/23 Full Review Zachary C A cool twist on horror and space themes movies, Apollo 18 is a good thriller that does a decent job for actually looking like it's comprised of lost footage. The characters are developed enough to have a weight to them, and the suspense of the monsters is well paced. Ignore the rough rating, I quite enjoyed it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/27/23 Full Review Lovely P This is a solid 4 and half out of 5 stars for anyone looking for a unique sci-fi horror experience. The film is not perfect by any means, but it does a great job of creating a creepy and intense atmosphere with its found footage-style cinematography. The movie also provides some surprising twists and turns that keep viewers engaged throughout the runtime, even if the finale isn't particularly satisfying. While some viewers may find the story's lack of depth disappointing, the film's sense of visual style and its dedication to realistic, practical effects make it a unique and enjoyable experience overall. So if you're a horror fan looking for something new or just want to have a fun time at the movies without spending too much money, "Apollo 18" is definitely worth checking out. Kim Newman Empire Magazine A simple sci-fi horror with just enough scares to keep you interested. Rated: 3/5 Sep 23, 2011 Full Review Kimberley Jones Austin Chronicle Apollo 18 is an intriguing, if never enthralling, fusion of period space-flight procedural, conspiracy theory, and monster movie. Rated: 2.5/5 Sep 9, 2011 Full Review Chuck Bowen Slant Magazine Watching people land on the moon isn't all that interesting or photogenic, especially when we know it's pretend. Rated: 1/4 Sep 6, 2011 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Strong characters and rewarding narratives are rarely developed in “found footage” movies, so when the shocks and gross-out moments occur, the audience can’t be blamed for feeling uninvolved. Rated: 2/4 Mar 8, 2023 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies I found “Apollo 18” to be a fun little movie that uses and incorporates the found footage style in a slick and fresh fashion. It does have some issues but it also has some great moments wrapped into its tight 88 minute running time.
